What is Artisanal Specialty Coffee?

Among coffee connoisseurs, the term "Specialty coffee" is well known and describes coffees crafted with exceptional care from origin to cup.

To use an analogy: the difference between industrial and artisanal coffee is the same as between a mass-produced loaf of bread and fresh homemade bread baked from high-quality wheat in a traditional oven. Fresh, clean, high quality – produced in small batches.

The coffee plant prefers a tropical climate, where it produces delicately scented white flowers. The fruit of the plant is the coffee cherry, whose seed is the coffee bean itself – usually two tucked inside each cherry. Since producing a single pound of roasted coffee requires approximately four thousand beans, its cultivation and processing demand unparalleled dedication.

Freshly Roasted Coffee from Oradea

SemiramiS coffee is prepared by a small roastery in Oradea using carefully selected and freshly roasted coffee beans. As a result, our coffee offers pleasant aromas ranging from bold to smooth flavor profiles, giving every guest a truly special experience.

The roots of Oradea's coffee culture date back to the period of Ottoman rule. According to local legend, the custom of drinking coffee in Hungarian history was first recorded here when Prince Thököly, while visiting, was invited by the Pasha of Oradea to stay for a final cup of black coffee after a hearty lunch – which is where the famous expression "black soup" (feketeleves) originates.

Why 100% Arabica Coffee?

Arabica coffee grows in high-mountain environments, at altitudes between 1,000 and 2,000 meters above sea level. It blooms after the rainy season and produces fruit after a ripening process of about nine months. A single coffee plant produces barely one kilogram of coffee beans per year. Wet-processed Arabica beans have a much more complex, silky taste and lower caffeine content compared to Robusta.

Our Premium Coffee Selection

Ethiopia Sidamo: A specialty coffee known for its medium body, sweet taste, and slightly spicy aroma. Originating from altitudes of 1,700–2,000 meters, it is one of southern Ethiopia's finest offerings. The clarity of its acidity is complemented by floral notes, roasted walnut, and coconut, with a berry and red-wine character in the finish.

Nicaragua Red Caturra: A balanced representative of Central American coffees, with milder acidity. Its body ranges from medium to full. Its rich aroma opens into sweet flavors, with a hazelnut-like taste and a subtle touch of vanilla.
